A music video by Count Gilbert. The description comes from his YouTube page:

In memory of our beloved Uncle Arden, based on the true story of his bank robbery. (His voice featured in the intro)…video was recorded from the same maximum security prison where he was imprisoned…

Arden Leone Dullum was born on income tax day April 15, 1930 in Hillsboro, North Dakota. When Arden was 15, his hero, older brother Marvin, died in an automobile accident. He became rebellious and was kicked out of school for drinking.

After a series of auto thefts and a bank robbery (in which he was shot 3 times in the leg) with his partner Raymond Pride (nicknamed “One Eye”), Arden was sent to St. Cloud reformatory until he turned 21 years old.

In 1951 he was transferred to Stillwater Prison, Minnesota to serve a 15 year sentence. During his 15 years at Stillwater, Arden spent time at St. Peters Mental Institution where he received a total of 90 shock treatments to stabilize his rebellious attitude.

Following one year of incarceration (1966) at Deer Lodge State Prison, Montana, Arden made it west to Washington State where his parents, sister, and younger brother lived. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at his younger brother’s construction company until his retirement.

He married Frances Marie Gaughan in 1989 and they live happily ever after in Tacoma WA until their passing last year. Frances died August 14, 2009. Arden died 2 months later, peacefully in his sleep, on October 12, 2009.,

Arden won $30,000 in the Washington State Lottery in 2004. The bank safe he blew had $18,000.

Lyrics:
His shaky sweaty hands felt the cold steel safe he thought what have I got to lose
He was chewing pink bubble gum smoking dynamite he blew his future with a fuse
The cash was confetti the smell was burning rubber oh One Eye sees a road block ahead
a silver bullet in his leg a bulls-eye on his back make a run for the river bed
What have I got to lose
What have I got to lose
I broke the rules They kicked me out of school
What have I got to lose
There’s burn holes in his slippers the tattoos tell the story he lights another cigarette
he cuts and deals the cards white hair almost eighty no education no regret
What have I got to lose
What have I got to lose
I broke the rules
They kicked me out of school
What have I got to lose
Shocked in a power room a mental institution
high voltage headphones a hell of a solution
A rebel a reason his older brother died
He could do the math but he never learned to cry
