Barb and I took Mike, Kelly and Branson to see An Improvised Christmas Carol where we actually helped rewrite this classic tale. Throughout the entire show, the cast performed the classic Dickens tale with suggestions provided by the audience… from Scrooge’s type of business to Tiny Tim’s affliction. It was a blast. We were surprised to discover that Unexpected Productions has produced this hit holiday show every year for the last 20 years!
Our team injected some highly humorous input into the play. Mike entered the word, “prodigious” which was woven into a rhyme that appeared on Scrooges’ grave stone. I named the charitable organization that Scrooge felt was a useful tool to deplete the surplus population, Minnesota Artificial Limb. But probably the funniest injection into the production was by a woman who suggested her own family tradition of decorating the Christmas tree with pickles, decorative pickles.
