Love is all you need. I was in the audience of Love tonight at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The house was packed and buzzing and when the show started it overwhelmed this fan with exquisite beauty, amazing characters, acrobatics, choreography, costumes, sets and wonderful media. If you have already soaked up and internalized the amazing soundtrack to Love, rest assured that the live show is a completely new experience. In fact, in most cases the mixes for the show seemed original and exclusive and the studio outtakes of the fab four chatting between takes pleased me beyond measure. Several bits of super sweet media were created to effectively evoke the live presence of the four lads. It was beautiful. All you need is love. Love is all you need.
I have one piece of advice for those who intend to go see Love. Spend the extra dough to get the best seats you can. Do not purchase 300 level seats. I sat in section 305, and while I loved the show, it was clear that the show was designed to be seen from a lower angle. Unlike most Cirque Du Soleil productions where there isn’t a bad seat in the house, section 305 should be avoided. Strawberry Fields Forever. Coo coo ka choo.
