Such a great day today hiking up to Rattlesnake Ledge with friends. I’d put it in the “best days ever” category because it was just so great on so many levels–sharing the experience with good friends, feeling great about reaching fitness goals and seeing the benefit of it on the hike and the weather and vistas were amazing.

I had hiked to Rattlesnake Ledge back in 2011. That hike was super fun, but it crushed me. I was so out of shape it took everything I had to get up the hill and when I got there, I was so shakey and full of vertigo, I couldn’t stand on the rock that sits precariously on the edge of the ledge. Today, I zipped up the hill like it was nothing. In fact, I left my group to pick up the pace for the last stretch to see what I was made of and powered right up to the top like a hiking machine. Thank you Crossfit Amped. Life is good and it gets better every day.

Photos from the hike include images from the ledge, a few of us getting our feet wet in the lake, then burgers and MASSIVE rootbeer floats at the XXX in Issaquah. Such a great day.

According to the fitness stats collection software on my phone:

  • 18,948 steps
  • 8.82 miles walked
  • 96 flights of stairs (floors) climbed
