I first saw this video when my son, Mike, posted it on Facebook. This happened at a time when we had just finished a project together and also, Mike showed me a final cut of his new short film. The project we worked on was our first paying gig together—it came out wonderfully and the client was very pleased. The cut of Mike’s short film was beautiful. What struck me in these experiences with Mike, is that his taste and quality gap is so narrow, it’s difficult to perceive if it exists at all. He is very talented and I am very proud of him.

I know that Ira Glass has inspired Mike a lot. I admire Ira’s work on This American Life. Just recently, my friend Carrie sent me the link to this video. It obviously inspired her. It inspired me, again. I want to keep it close so it can continue to inspire when needed.
